The Dueling Pianos Experience
What is a Dueling Piano Bar?
A dueling piano bar is a live music experience where two pianists face off on stage, taking song requests directly from the audience. They don’t play a pre-set list; the crowd decides what happens next. You shout it, you request it, you tip for it, and the whole room sings along.
It’s part concert, part comedy show, part sing-along, and completely unpredictable. The pianists compete for laughs, applause, and the loudest crowd reaction. One minute it’s a power ballad with the entire bar belting the chorus. The next minute it’s a mashup nobody saw coming.
If you’ve never been to one, think of it this way: it’s the only kind of bar where you’re not watching entertainment; you are the entertainment.
What a Night Looks Like
Before the Show
Grab a table, settle in, and order from our music-coded craft cocktail menu. Take a look at the stage. The pianos are set. The lights are low. The room is filling up. Something’s about to happen.
The First Set
The pianists take the stage and open with something that sets the tone. Within minutes, the requests start pouring in. Classic rock. Show tunes. ’90s hip-hop. Country. The pianists read the room, riff off each other, and turn your requests into something you didn’t know you needed.
The Battle Heats Up
This is where it gets rowdy. The pianists compete for the crowd’s reaction. One starts a song, the other tries to steal it. Mashups happen. Sing-alongs erupt. The whole bar picks a side. You’ll be laughing, clapping, and singing at the top of your lungs.
The Encore
By the end of the night, you’ve heard songs you forgot you loved, watched two musicians turn a room full of strangers into a choir, and you’ve already texted your friends to come next weekend. That’s the Whiskey & Ivory experience.
How to Request a Song
Song requests are the heartbeat of every show. You can submit your request by grabbing a piece of paper from the bar and taking it up to the piano players.
